Author Biography

  • ANA BELEN DISANDRO, Provincial University of Córdoba. National University of Córdoba

    Ana Belén Disandro is a Piano Professor from the Félix T. Garzón Conservatory of Music, a Professor of Instrumental Performance (Advanced Studies) from the National University of Córdoba (UNC), and holds a Ph.D. in Arts from UNC. She currently serves as Full Professor of the seminars Argentine Musical Folklore and History of Argentine and Latin American Music at UNC, and teaches Piano, History and Analysis of Argentine Popular Music, and Tango Ensemble I at the Provincial University of Córdoba (UPC).

    She was awarded doctoral and postdoctoral fellowships by CONICET . She has participated as a speaker and lecturer at academic conferences and scholarly meetings in Argentina and throughout Latin America, and has published articles in peer-reviewed journals on tango, provincial tango, and cuarteto.

    In 2024, she published her book Tango in Córdoba: The Provincial and the Porteño in the Construction of a Genre (1890–1950) (Artes Editorial). As a performer, she was a member of the tango group “Las Rositas” and currently performs with “Milonga sin corte.”
