Author Biography

  • Lucas Rubén Lillo, Universidad Nacional de San Juan

    Argentine musician and educator, graduate of the National University of San Juan (UNSJ), where he earned degrees as a University Professor of Music: Saxophone Specialization and Higher Technician in Musical Performance with an orientation in Saxophone.  

    Since 2009, he has served as the Professor in charge of the Saxophone and Chamber Music I and II chairs at the National University of La Rioja (UNLaR). Additionally, he maintains an active role at the UNSJ as an Associate Professor of the Saxophone chair. He is the creator and director of the UNLaR Preparatory Symphony Orchestra and was the principal director of the Dr. Diego de Salinas High School Youth Symphony Orchestra.  

    As a performer, his repertoire spans from academic to popular music. He has performed as a soloist and section member in the UNSJ Symphony Orchestra under the direction of international masters and was a member of the Buenos Aires Symphonic Band during the ninth seminar held in that city. In the popular music scene, he was a founding member of the Occidental Sax Band.  

    He has had a prominent and recurring participation in the La Rioja Classical and Latin American Music Festival, performing various roles over the years:

    • He participated as a trainer for the Saxophone and Wind Ensemble Workshop during the 6th edition of the festival. This event was declared of cultural interest by the Chamber of Deputies of La Rioja Province and of interest by the Honorable Senate of the Nation.  

    • Chamber Music Performer: He was part of the artistic programming, performing chamber music concerts in the 7th (2021) and 8th (2022) editions of the festival.  

    Furthermore, he has contributed to the publishing field with orchestral arrangements published by the National Ministry of Education. Currently, he is a member of the Departmental Music Council of the UNSJ and actively participates in the update of study plans and concert commissions at the same institution.
